Overview of Word of Life Christian Ministry-Teny Fiainana:

• Mission: Word of Life Christian Ministry-Teny Fiainana (WLCM-TF) is dedicated to preaching the gospel of Love of Jesus Christ, the Word of Life (John 1:1), to Malagasies living all around the world and in the USA through actions, faith and ministry to promote wholeness, unity, healing and hope for the Malagasy community.

• History: Word of Life Christian Ministry-Teny Fiainana, a religious non-profit organization based in Raleigh, NC started its ministry with an Internet Christian Ministry Program in March 31, 1996. The Christian Program, led by six dedicated Malagasy Christian student volunteers from France, Japan, Canada, Madagascar, USA and Germany consisted of a weekly sermon and Christian instructions dispatched to an e-mail server reaching out to thousands of Malagasies living in 35 countries and about 1000 in the USA. Its mission then expanded to offering a web page (http://teny.fiainana.free.fr) with prayer requests, questions, News about Christian faith and program archives to the Malagasy people. In 2000, WLCM-TF helped distribute preventive information materials, as a campaign against the spread of Cholera (1364 deaths), to schoolchildren in 20 primary schools in Antsiranana. It also supplied 100 Malagasy bibles and three-day meals to the victims of severe flooding (10,000 homeless, 150 deaths) due to two successive tropical depressions Eliane and Gloria in early March 2000. In the USA, WLCM-TF, performs variety of prayer meetings, presentations, newsletter distributions.

• Current priorities: WLCM-TF, through its internet ministry sets its priorities to teaching the Christian principles of honesty, integrity, love and unity to heal the Malagasy community throughout the world from corruption, bribery, distrust of each other which hinder development and prosperity. It also prioritizes actions that improve the livelihood and education of children and women in among the Malagasy community.
